Hi everyone! I hope you are having a good day! Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme created and hosted by Shanah @Bionic Book Worm. This week’s topic is “Top 5 books you read as an ARC.” But since I’m still relatively new to book blogging, I have not yet requested any ARCs from publishers. So instead, I have a list of my top 5 most anticipated releases!
Top 5
Opposite of Always, Justin A. Reynolds
This story sounds so emotional, and I can not wait. The synopsis of this book is just so intriguing. I hope it’s a beautiful story with the themes love, friendship, second chances, and loss, intertwined. I also hope that the writing will contain some light moments as well as some more serious ones. I will probably tear up while reading this story!
A Very Large Expanse of Sea, Tahereh Mafi
This story is a diverse contemporary that covers an important topic and I’m excited to read about it. It is about the a Muslim girl named Shirin who is stereotyped after 9/11. She does not let people close to her, to keep from being hurt. Then, she meets Ocean James. The book’s rating on Goodreads is very high and I know that Tahereh Mafi is a well loved author! I hope that this story addresses stereotypes and shows that no one should be judged based on their religion. I hope this book has a great friendship or love story too!
Vox, Christina Dalcher
Although this book has a relatively low rating on Goodreads from people who have read the ARC, I am still looking forward to reading it. The concept of only being allowed a little amount of words a day is unique. As well, this book seems to be a comment/way of awareness on gender equality which is wonderful. I am excited to see how the main character is portrayed.
Four Dead Queens, Astrid Scholte
The synopsis of this story sounds amazing! There seems to be a lot of detail in this summary so I’m guessing this story will be packed with action, which is exciting. Also, there are so many female characters, yes! This book sounds like a mix of fantasy, dystopian and mystery. I love when there are elements of multiple genres in a story!
Again, But Better, Christine Riccio
A book by a booktuber I love?! And a contemporary novel?! Yes, I’m interested! Christine’s personality is so wonderful and genuine; I love her booktube videos. She has been on booktube for a long time, and I feel that she is well knowledged in reading and writing. So, I’m really excited to read this contemporary novel by her. I hope I love it! 🙂
(There are a lot more contemporary fiction novels I am really excited about, but I wanted to have more of a variety on this list!)
Have you read these books? Did you like them? If you haven’t read these books, are you excited to read them? Let’s talk in the comments!

Four Dead Queens sounds like a really exciting novel! You’re right — the fantasy aspect, the mystery, and the female characters — the story just sounds like a concoction of so many amazing things. I can’t wait to read it! 😆
Me too! I think the book has great potential!
OPPOSITE OF ALWAYS! I am SO excited about this book, it sounds incredible and I’m in love with this cover 😀

I’m so excited about Christine’s book as well! As soon as she announced she was writing one, I knew it was going to be one that I couldn’t wait to get!
Yes, I’m glad you’ll be reading her book too!! She’s a great booktuber, I hope we love her book 🙂
I hope so too!
I’m really excited for Four Dead Queens too! I love a good mystery, and there’s just not enough fantasy mysteries on my shelf.
It sounds like this book is going to be an awesome read! I’m excited! 🙂
I can’t wait for A Very Large Expanse of Sea. It sounds super good. Also, I had NO idea Christine was writing a book but now I’m super excited for that. I love her! I used to watch her years ago but I haven’t been watching a lot of Booktube lately so I need to catch up😃
The ratings for that book is also so high, which is so wonderful! I haven’t been watching much of booktube lately either, but I will occasionally go back and watch some videos from my favourite booktubers, one of them being Christine! 🙂
Four Dead Queens sounds like it’s going to be really good!
Ahh yes! The synopsis was just so good! 🙂
yes! and that cover is gorgeous!
