August Wrap Up// ft. The Current Most Talked About Series

Hi everyone! I recently returned from vacation and I’m back to blogging. ❤ School has also started for me which means balancing reading, blogging, and school. I think I underestimated the amount of time school and extra curriculars take; so during the school year I will try my best to post at least once a week. Today’s post is my August Wrap Up, sorry for the late post!

Books I Read

I read the same (well, basically the same) number of books as last month. I feel that since I read around four books a month during the summer, I’ll probably read two books a month during the school year. Although I would love to read more, I’m a slow reader, so I guess that means my TBR will never get smaller 🙂 😂 If I read (or average) two books per month for the rest of this year, I’ll be very happy!

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (I’m happy to say I have now been able to join in on the talk about the most ‘popular’ series at the moment!)
PS I Still Love You
by Jenny Han⭐️⭐️⭐️ (I wish I liked this book more than I did 😦 )
Save the Date by Morgan Matson ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi ⭐️⭐️.75
Thorne of Glass by Sarah J Mass (Currently Reading; I didn’t finish reading it this month even though I said in my last wrap up that I must read it in August ahh 😦 )

Reviews for these books above are coming soon.

Books I Must Read in September

Since I’m in a small reading slump right now I’ll just put one book I really want to read:

always and forever

Noteworthy Movies

I watched two amazing movies this month and of course I had to mention them! They were both so fantastic in so many ways (ie. script, actors, directing, etc.). The Asian representation in these movies is also so important and an added bonus! ❤

This month hasn’t been too great in regards to blogging for me. My blog stats have gone slightly higher since last month but I’m finding that it is sometimes difficult to find the time to write. I also went on vacation at the end of this month so I took a small break from blogging. I hope for a better month in September!

On a more positive note I’m planning a giveaway when I reach 250 or 300 WordPress followers! My goal for September regarding blog stats is to reach 200 WordPress followers. 😊

  1. I thought I was the only one hit hard with schoolwork, and I felt bad when I decided to only post once a week instead of three times… but then I realized how many student bloggers were making the same decision once I started to blog hop! I think it’s great that you’re prioritizing your sanity 😂 and finding a healthy balance between school and blogging this year. If we relax more and stay healthy, both school and blogging will be a happier experience for us busy students 😋 Best of luck in school + blogging!

    • Ahh school is actually so stressful and the work load this year for school is so much more than I’ve ever had! I’ve also realized now that it’s good to have a healthy balance. I hope the same luck for you ❤️ Thanks so much for this comment!

  2. Welcome back from vacation! I hope you had a good time! Believe it or not, I still haven’t watch To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before yet. Even my mom recommended it to me and she just got a Netflix account like last week.

  3. Welcome back! ❤ I hope you had fun on vacation and that school has started off well ❤ I'm happy you read and enjoyed To All The Boys and Save The Date, I love both so, very much. I'm also happy you enjoyed the movie, yay! I can't wait to watch Crazy Rich Asians, it only releases in October where I live, but I'm impatient 🙂
    I hope you'll have a lovely September!

    • Thank you! Ahh those two books were so funny and enjoyable to read. One month until you can watch the movie; it’s almost here yayy! I hope you love the movie; I look forward to hearing your thoughts on it.
      Thank you, you too! ❤️

  4. Ohh, I still haven’t seen Crazy Rich Asians but I’ve heard amazing things.
And reading four books is fine. I hope you’ll find more time to read during school year, so you could finish 2 books per month as you wish, but I hope you won’t stress too much about it.

  5. I LOVED To All the Boys! I read the first book in a day and absolutely loved it. I have yet to watch the movie, but hopefully that will happen soon. 🙂 If you’re looking for some good books, I’d recommend Scythe by Neal Shusterman and The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer. I can’t wait for more of your posts, Sissi! 🙂

    • Ahh I’m so glad you loved the book! (Did you mean you read the whole series or only the first book?) When you watch the movie, I would love to hear your thoughts on it, I thought the movie was so cute 😍
I haven’t read Scythe but have tried reading Cinder. I couldn’t finish the book at that time because I guess I wasn’t used to reading science fiction? But the concept sounds so interesting that I might give it another go in the future!
      Thank you so much ♥️

  6. Yay, I’m so happy to see you’re back! 🙂 How was your vacation?

Ahh, the Lara Jean series! I think I liked the third book in that series best, so I’m interested to see what you think of it if you do read it. Also, I’m so hyped to read Save the Date! Sadly it hasn’t been checked in at my library for ages, but someday…someday I’ll read it, haha.

Don’t get discouraged with blogging!❤️You are amazing, your blog is amazing, and I truly love reading each and every one of your posts. I really hope September is better for you, you got this!

Also, thank you so much for linking to my giveaway post! I added your extra entry!

  7. I can’t believe I still haven’t read To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before! I even told myself I’d read it before I saw the movie, but I caved in and watched it anyway😂 It was so cute!

Also, even though you feel like you didn’t necessarily have a great month of blogging, I still think you did; I loved so many of your posts in August❤️😃

  8. 4 books is not bad, that’s way more than the average person read so you can proud of that!
and yes, this is the currently most hyped series so I am glad you could catch up and happy reading in September!
